A new Eve bloggers community site is coming

Evebloggers.com is being killed off in a few days, and I'm hearing that people who are approaching @MarcScaurus to take it over are being ignored. That doesn't surprise me, and I still believe he's trying to force a killing off of Eve bloggers in order to get more people across to themittani.com.

So I'm nearing the 'alpha' release of my own project, a new site to move forward with the Eve blogging community. 

Another new travelling blog

There's another travelling blog out there that I wanted to do a shout-out to. One of the members of the Interstellar Geographic Society corp, Brother XII, has gone off on some travels around the galaxy, similar to my own - exploring the galaxy one system at a time.

The evebloggers.com conspiracy

Back in 2009 I created evebloggers.com for the Eve Online blogging community. It was a resource to showcase the latest posts from all the Eve bloggers out there, on one website. With hundreds of hits a day, it was very popular and a much needed resource to keep track of all the Eve blogs and what they were up to.

I managed this from 2009 through to 2012, updating the site with new blogs and removing inactive blogs. However, life has a way of introducing distractions, and in 2012 I had very little time to continue maintaining it.

A long time ago I started www.evebloggers.com, a portal for those blogging about Eve Online. Back then there were HUNDREDS of people blogging about their experiences in the game.

Today, not so much.

It looks like www.evebloggers.com is dead. It's still showing new posts from blogs that have been added in the past, but no site updates or new blog additions have been done since July 2012 - coincidentally, that was when I last updated it...

Well, that didn't work out very well

2. Me taking a break from the game. Again.

Both of them didn't work out very well.

OOC: The Eve Blogodrama

I do enjoy a good drama, but only when I'm not involved in it. I'm seeing a nice blogodrama this week in the Eve blogosphere. It's quite amusing.

Well, I know that's impossible, but I think we can come together better than what we have been. I think that as a community, we're failing. We're being laughed at by those that aren't in the community (not to mention those that are IN the community). And why would they want to join such a drama-filled community? Well, they wouldn't. And I think that's why the community is slowly shrinking.

OOC: The evolution of Eve blogging

Back in.... gee, I don't know - a long time ago! I created www.evebloggers.com to bring together all the Eve Online bloggers under a common banner, so the Eve Online Bloggers Portal came into existence. It successfully aggregated blog posts by all active Eve Online bloggers, as well as podcasts, YouTube videos, and even related images on Flickr.

It was so successful that it's still recognised today as a leading method of keeping up to date with Eve Online blogs.

But that was SO 'last decade'.
